The Learning Resources Centre (LRC) incorporates a large and spacious room with study places available for up to forty-eight students, a reading area and ICT facilities. There is also more relaxed seating available. The LRC aims to be central to teaching and learning throughout the school.
Facilities:
- Multimedia collection of print and electronic resources to support teaching and learning throughout the school including 11,000 books, 30 periodicals, 3 daily newspapers and 1 weekly newspaper
- Access to multiple server network computers with subject-specific software
- Equipment available to use includes colour printer, scanner, photocopiers and television
- The LRC is fully automated and students can search the LRC catalogue and keep track of their borrowing online via the LRC Online service.
- The Chartered Librarian is supported by Sixth Form Prefects and a number of Sixth Form Assistants. Students from all other years are welcome to help the Librarian during their lunch breaks
- Students participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme can also complete the service section of the Award through duties in the LRC
- The LRC is a suitable venue for extra-curricular events, activities and talks
