When do I make my application? You may register your child at any time. Please call our Admissions Secretary for further details.
When can I visit the School? We have an annual Open Day and at School at Work day for parents to visit. In addition to these Open Days, we welcome appointments for individual tours. Please contact the Admissions Secretary.
Do you have a house system? From Year 3 upwards, right through to the Sixth Form, each girl belongs to one of our four houses: Brontë, Curie, Nightingale and Pankhurst. This encourages social contact between the age groups and forms the basis for competitive sports events and inter-house competitions in Music, Dance and Drama, Swimming and Public Speaking. House meetings and house assemblies are also held periodically.
How are assemblies organised? Heathfield is a non-denominational school, teaching about all the world’s main religions. A daily assembly is held in the Juniors and three times per week in the Seniors. Readings are drawn from a wide variety of mainly secular sources. Different members of staff and the girls themselves make regular contributions to assembly. Parents are invited to some of the Junior assemblies. The good relationships which exist between the members of the many different faiths and cultures is one of the most valued features of the school.
Who provides lunches? Catering is provided by Brookwood. Girls in the Juniors and Years 7-9 must have a school lunch each day, unless a doctor’s note has been provided. Senior pupils have the option of school lunch or a packed lunch. School meals comprise a hot dish, a snack, a vegetarian alternative, soup, salads, sandwiches, a dessert and fresh fruit every day. Mid-morning refreshments are also available. Fees do not include school lunches.
Are there opportunities for parents to help in the School? We have a thriving parent-teacher association (Friends of Heathfield) which is open to all parents. It organises a range of activities, such as the annual Christmas Fair, quiz supper and Summer Fête, to raise funds for school amenities and to foster social contact. Parents are very welcome to join the Committee and help organise these events.
Is there transport available? Yes, details of coach information and routes may be obtained from our Admissions Secretary. Our coaches come from Kingsbury, Wembley, kenton, Harrow, Ealing and Greenford.
